Re: help!!
The reasons that motivated me....I guess I just wanted to do that.......I just had the feeling that it was worth doing it since it was not as boring as the other subjects......I prefered spending all my time in front of the pc rather than doing my homework as I was discovering a new thing each time I was on the computer.....thus doing this subject for me meant that I would discover much more....
when I was in form 1 to 3, the classes were kinda boring.....not considering the theory classes which I barely followed....the practical classes were worse...what we did on the computers were not really interesting to avoid saying stupid.....
I don't know......maybe we could have been asked on what we would like to know....what kind of programs we would like to explore.....the theory classes could be done such that everybody would participate.....in a certain way....it could more creative and observe more opinions from the students......

I have always liked computer~But the computer classes from form one to form three really did nothing special apart from the theory~ Should have introduced Pascal Programming at that time! instead of drawing on paint~Or instead of paint, make the student learn about Photoshop! So that if someone really masters it, she can then become one of the editors for the school mag or anything else!

Re: help!!
hi...
Well honnestly i took computer because i liked the subject and knew i cld hide my face behind the computer whenever i did not want to learn or do anything...
It has always been my favourite subject since form 1 even if i never learnt many things in that calss... i mean no brain effort was needed to be good in that, it was so silly.
Well in the f1 to f3 classes, u cld talk abt robots and where they work or the silly chapters like inputs n then the practical classes could be things which we would use in our everyday life like how to navigate properly on the internet or how to debug the small problems of the computer.. like using the control panel efficiently and looking for lost files, and create small prgrms, i dnt know!!

Re: help!!
Hello..I think that computing studies is tough, but worthy being chosen as it's really interesting and there's much to discover. I do like the subject. And computing studies allows discovering how things work in everyday life with use of technology and also how can a computer help to solve our problems. Quite amazing at times. I also think it helps to develop more logical thinking. (pascal programming) It's cool.
During the form 1-3 classes, we were almost treated like babies and it's like as if the teachers feared we saw the computers like big monsters in front of us..and so made us do childish things like making a turtle move to create squares and rectangles...(logo) The classes should have been more open, for example talking about how, in practice, a computer is used everyday and in different places, learning to use programs, how they can be created, by whom, who are those persons..What's the use of having to learn all hardware by heart when you don't know what amazing things can be done with the use of a computer?

Re: help!!
Seriously, what we learnt in f1-3 in computing is what my little sis knew at 9 years old...
I still remember I was scared of the "machine" in form1!!! lol
Times have changed and so should the syllabus of computing in lower classes else it becomes boring. Computing is a really challenging subject or it is forever changing. And man, u gotta be really motivated in order to face those projects. Lagging behind is SUICIDE!!! I think what pushed me to take the subject in Form 4 was the fact of hearing all my older friends going on about how tough it is and all... But I don't regret one moment of my computer classes ,be it at LCC or LCQB!
Conclusion: Computer classes forge your character, teach you patience and makes you tough. =)
